The takedown metrics that matter (and the ones that do not)

Raw removal counts flatter the program. Time-to-removal, re-listing rate, and network coverage are the numbers that tell you whether counterfeits are actually shrinking.

Removal count is a vanity metric

Ten thousand removals mean little if the same sellers re-list weekly. Counting takedowns measures effort, not outcome.

Time-to-removal is the operational metric

Days from detection to removal decides how much damage a listing does. Track it by platform and claim type; it exposes where your filings stall and where to invest.

Re-listing rate measures durability

The percentage of removed sellers who return within thirty days tells you whether you are pruning or actually clearing. A falling re-listing rate is the strongest sign of a working program.

Network coverage measures the real target

Counterfeiting is organized. The share of known network storefronts currently down, tracked over time, is the closest thing to a true north for an enforcement program.
